Mario Bevilacqua's Venetian lampas represent one of the most refined expressions of Venetian textile art. These fabrics are renowned for their complexity, rich detail, and lush blend of colors and materials. Their production, which requires great skill, continues a centuries-old tradition, of which Bevilacqua is a distinguished representative.

Characterized by an intricate weave of threads, Venetian lampas feature elaborate designs, combining silk, linen, cotton, and metallic threads to create a visually rich and deep fabric. The technique allows for raised patterns for a three-dimensional effect that captures light and shadow, making each fabric unique.

Historically used in noble palaces and churches for curtains, upholstery, tapestries, and vestments, these fabrics added a sense of opulence and refinement to interiors. Today, Bevilacqua's lampas fabrics, produced in Venice, are sought-after for interior decoration, perpetuating this art and tradition.

In fashion, they find new life in evening gowns, elegant jackets, and luxury accessories, thanks to their textures and intricate patterns. Designers use them to create pieces that blend tradition and innovation, modernizing craftsmanship.

Their production in Venice uses high-quality materials, with silk predominating for its brilliance and ability to take on vibrant colors. Linen and cotton add durability and versatility, while gold and silver threads add a touch of luxury.

Lampas have recently gained popularity in fashion and interior design, fitting both traditional and modern settings thanks to their wide range of colors. This versatility makes them perfect for a variety of styles, always adding elegance and sophistication.

Mario Bevilacqua continues to excel in the production of lampas fabrics in Venice, combining tradition and artisanal innovation. His dedication ensures that each fabric is of superior quality, transforming each piece into a unique and precious work of art.

The two Mario Bevilacqua shops, specializing in the production and sale of lampas fabrics in Venice, are both located in San Marco, at number 337/b Fondamenta Canonica, just behind St. Mark's Basilica and next to the Bridge of Sighs. In Campo Santa Maria del Giglio, the shop is a historic and protected place, considered one of the last vestiges of a centuries-old workshop. It has no windows, but a large, always-open door and two windows through which the fabrics are displayed to be seen, touched, and explored.
