Mario Bevilacqua
Craftsmanship and technique, passion and creativity, history and legend, style and tradition: this is what Mario Bevilacqua offers you in his fabric shops in Venice.
Venetian textile production
The Bevilacqua family's renowned textile production is exhibited here in all its forms: velvets, soprarizzi, damasks, brocades, lampas, cushions, banners, and tapestries, recounting eight centuries of Venetian textile tradition.
Bevilacqua Family
Venice, surrounded by water like mighty walls, encloses and protects those arts that the world envies, appreciates, and seeks.
It is here that for three centuries the Bevilacqua family has proudly and stubbornly continued to weave on the wooden silk and manual looms of the ancient Tessitura Luigi Bevilacqua. It is present with two historic shops that the best press invites visitors to visit and includes in tourist tours discovering art in Venice.
Our stores
Visit our stores
Entering our shops means visiting ancient Venice, immediately savoring the soothing pleasure of things past, of real things, where modern technology has remained outside, waiting in vain. You are enveloped by velvets, damasks, brocades woven even in gold and silver, the pungent scent of silk, and the colors make the sun shine even in the evening.
Come and visit us
The two Mario Bevilacqua shops, specializing in the production and sale of fabrics in Venice, are both located in San Marco, at number 337/b Fondamenta Canonica, just behind St. Mark's Basilica and next to the Bridge of Sighs. In Campo Santa Maria del Giglio, the shop is a historic building listed as one of the last vestiges of a centuries-old workshop. It has no windows, but a large door that's always open and two windows through which the fabrics are displayed to be seen, touched, and explored.
